Emeritus artist, first ballerina of the National Opera in Bucharest for 50 years, she danced in the international repertoire Lake Swan, Don Quichotte, The Sleeping Beauty, Scheherazade, Giselle, Tricorne, Stone Flower, Bayadera, Coppelia. She performed tours with Swan Lake at Balshoi, with Giselle at Kirov, with other productions in Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Spain, Switzerland, Cuba, Brazil, France. Ileana Iliescu was director of the Ballet Company of the National Opera House in Bucharest and choreographer of the National Opera Iasi. 2015 was awarded with the Excellency Award of the National Opera Iasi Awards Gala.

 

 

Cristina Todi

Graduate of the theater and choreography academies, with a master's degree in performing arts, doctor of arts, Cristina Todi represented Romanian choreography as a dancer, choreographer and director-choreographer, in Europe and Asia. She is a university lecturer at the “George Enescu” National University of Art in Iași and a professor of choreography at the "Octav Bancila" National College of Art in Iași.

 

Aleisha Gardner

Choreographer, ballet mistress and rehearsal mistress at Teatrul de Balet Sibiu, Aleisha was born in Auckland, New Zealand where she began ballet classes at the age of 4. She joined The Australian National Theatre Ballet School at the age of 16. Achievements include ‘New Zealand Ballerina of the Year’ and prize winner of the ‘Sir John Logan Campbell Trust Ballet Award’.

After graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Arts in Classical Ballet and awarded ‘Dux’ of her year, she moved on to perform many principal roles.

In 2008 she moved to Romania, becoming a member of the Teatrul de Balet Sibiu. Over her time in the company she has performed soloist roles in numerous ballets, re-staging the repertoire and choreographing original works for the company including ‘Four Seasons,’ in 2013, performed numerous times though Romania and Europe. ‘Impetus,’ in 2014, ‘Check please!’ and ‘Turavura Uvertura’, in 2014 and 2015 respectively. ‘Sînt o babă comunistă!’ in 2015. ‘La Fille Mal Gardee’ in 2015, ‘Einstein’ in 2016, ‘Class Concert’ together with Mihai Babuska in 2016, ‘Straussiana’ together with Mihai Babuska in 2016, ‘Peer Gynt’ in ‘La Bayadere’ in 2017, ‘The Nutcracker’ 2017, ‘Bolero’ in 2018, ‘Legaturi’ in 2018, ‘Fragile’ in 2018, 2017, ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ in 2018 and various other shorter classical and contemporary works.

She has also toured with the company to South Korea, China, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Japan, Czech Republic, Italy, Sicily and numerous cities around Romania.

 

Irma Cardano

Graduated at National Dance Academy in Rome for the teaching of dance disciplines with a focus on contemporary dance.

She has worked in various organizations and institutions around the world including: USA, Brazil, India, Armenia, Russia, Holland, Etc.

She has won numerous awards for her teaching and choreographer activities.

She has been part of the jury in various national and international competitions.

 

Octavian Popa

 

 

Soloist of the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca.

Graduated in choreography at the "Gh. Dima" Academy of Music in Cluj, he carries out a sustained activity as a soloist at the Roman Opera and the Hungarian Opera in Cluj Napoca. Although he is young, his activity is complex: as a pedagogue he taught courses in choreographic improvisation, general repertoire at the High School of Choreography and at the Faculty of Performing Arts in Cluj. He also established himself as a choreographer, staging shows such as "In Thought", "Space" (music by J. Cage), "Death and the Maiden" (music by F. Schubert), "Romeo and Juliet" (music by S. Prokofiev ), The young man and death.
